Abundance United Church of Christ has the vision of being a community that is welcoming, vibrant and alive. Sometimes church can be a sterile, cold place where a welcome is extended only to those who “fit the mold”. At times truth is dictated rather than sought and it is difficult to see the relevance of the church. Our witness is different. We believe that God is still speaking and try to live out our walk together listening for the voice of the Still-Speaking God.

  • We seek to make our welcome complete, with no exceptions—just as God’s acceptance is all encompassing. As we see in the example of Jesus, who reached out even to the hated and outcast, there is no person who is unfit for the fellowship of believers. We want to show the abundance of God’s love by being loving to one another.

  • We seek the living God in living discipleship. Gracie Allen said, “Never put a period where God has put a comma.” And John Robinson, an early Congregationalist preacher, remarked that “there is yet more light and truth to break forth from God’s holy word.” In this spirit, we seek to encourage an active, living study of the Christian life. By honest study of the Scripture, prayer and meditation, and sharing our understanding with each other, we hope to come to a greater understanding of God.

  • We witness to the relevance of our faith by living discipleship. Christianity is not just a set of beliefs that look to a world to come. Rather our faith is a living journey of putting the will of God into practice in our lives.  By reaching out in love to the people around us, as Jesus did, having compassion on others and standing with the oppressed and marginalized, we witness to the love of God for all creation. We don’t wait for another life to come, but hope to bear the fruit of love—right here, right now. A faith that is active is a faith that is growing.

  • We invite you to walk with us in our journey.  Together we will grow and celebrate as we seek the will and the face of the living God.
